A Must Do! How to Download Your Facebook History

Do you know that you can quickly download your Facebook History?

Yes you can! An easy download feature provided by FB, will provide you with an offline archive of all your messages, Wall posts, photos, status updates and profile information!

  1. To download your information:
  2. Click at the top right of any Facebook page and select Settings.
  3. Click Download a copy of your Facebook data below your General Account Settings.
  4. Click Start My Archive.

Facebook doesn’t allow you to pick and choose what you download. You get everything! Once you download the file, unzip it to a folder on your local hard drive, then click on the index file within this folder. A replica of your FB profile page will open up in your browser with all of your data organized just the way it is on your live FB page, but with local links to your Wall, photos, videos, a list of your friends and all the messages you have ever sent on FB. It is a complete history of your FB activity!

Why would you do this? Maybe, just because you are curious. But actually, it might be good to have that archive, to protect yourself should the need ever arise to prove your actual FB history and activity. For whatever the reason is that motivates you, I recommend you download your FB history on a regular basis. You never know when you might need this history!
